Mankind’s real home isn’t planet Earth; it’s Utopia. We’re ropedancers, steadily throwing our rope into the future and walking towards the best of all possible worlds. It’s a journey towards equilibrium, not a fixed destination. What is supposed to be a work in progress towards progress, however, is sometimes turned into a work in regress. Nature, once one invisibly interconnected organism, gets fragmented, torn into pieces, slashed-and-burnt. The Mother gets neglected by her ignorant children.
Baltic Raw Künstliche Paradiese is an artistic interpretation of these processes of fragmentation. On the walls of the famous Esso Häuser – themselves witnesses of St.Pauli’s ongoing fragmentation – artists present a sequence of images that discusses mankind’s manipulation of Nature and its Laws.
